Copyright for Theses and Dissertations

Join this workshop, facilitated by Seth Vuletich, Scholarly Communications Librarian, to skillfully navigate copyright challenges you may encounter during the writing process of your thesis or dissertation. The complexities of copyright can present hurdles in documenting the culmination of years of research, particularly when seeking permission to reuse images. Additionally, submitting papers to journals often necessitates transferring copyright, potentially leaving you without ownership of certain components of paper-based theses. Fortunately, these challenges can be proactively addressed. This workshop is designed to empower you with practical strategies, making these issues more manageable than you might initially anticipate.

This workshop is part of the Career Toolkit for Graduate Students workshop series. Career Toolkit for Graduate Students & Postdocs is a workshop series aiming to provide early career researchers with tips, tools, and best practices across the research lifecycle as well as prepare students for life beyond school.

The series is hosted weekly by Seth Vuletich, Scholarly Communications Librarian, and Roel Snieder, Director of the Center for Professional Development Education.
