We are happy to announce the next installment of the Golden Town & Gown at Noon Tuesday November 12 in the Mines Arthur Lakes Library.  In an effort to draw more academics to our meeting, we’re reading The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor, which is the Common Read for the 2019 Mines Freshman Class. The thesis of the book is that success does not bring happiness; instead happiness causes success, and the book suggests how it does.

Your enrollment for this free lunch discussion commits you to obtain and read The Happiness Advantage beforehand and to consider the book questions which will be sent upon enrollment. Some students will meet with us.  Hope to see you there.

 For those of you very interested in the topic, at 2:30 pm on 11/12, Shawn Achor’s wife, Michelle Gielan, who has written Broadcasting Happiness, will be in the library, before presenting a free, but a lecture on the book, at 4 pm in Bunker Auditorium (Green Center).
