Library Concert Series featuring Alex Jackson

Date:
Friday, October 15, 2021
Time:
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location:
Boettcher Room

Join us in the library on Friday, October 8 from 12- 1p for some live music. Alex Jackson will be performing alternative, folk and jazz.

New to the Concerts Series this year, Alex Jackson is an undergraduate Applied Math and Statistics major at Mines. Alex has 2 plants, 2 cats and plays 2 instruments. He is studying jazz bass with Moto Fukushima, co-leader of the genre-bending fusion group “House of Waters.” Then, he taught himself some ukulele tunes by Jake Shimabukuro. Alex has performed original music opening for nationally touring acts at the Bluebird and other venues in Colorado with his friends as “Halleway.” In his spare time, he likes to cook and spend time with his family.

Per Alex, “This concert is an amalgamation of songs that have been meaningful to me throughout my development as a musician. Though they differ in genre and style, the uniting factor is that each song has helped me over a significant learning hurdle in developing my musical capabilities. The recent scourge gave me some time to develop my solo repertoire and I look forward to growing as a musician in this community.”

Concerts in the Library are held at noon in the Boettcher Room. Brown bag lunches welcome. Hot and cold drinks provided by the Library’s Book and Brew.

See you there!
